The objective of the Food Hygiene program is to ensure that food establishments regulated by the department (per s. 381.0072, Florida Statutes) are operated in accordance with applicable regulations and in a safe and sanitary manner to minimize the occurrence of food-related illness.  These food establishments are routinely inspected to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
